Replacement systems and their challenges
Replacing an existing refrigeration system or industrial heat pump is a complex undertaking that requires careful planning and expertise. When a refrigeration system has to be replaced after around 20 years, tight space conditions, such as in the example of this horological manufacture, are just one aspect that needs to be taken into account. After such a long time, the requirements for the system have often changed: On the one hand, buildings are used differently, resulting in different heating or cooling requirements. On the other hand, legal regulations and general conditions have also changed over time. Seamless integration into the existing system is also of great importance and requires, for example, adjustments to the control and regulation systems as well as to the interfaces to other systems or processes.
Integration often during ongoing operation
Once the decision has been made in favour of a new system, it must be integrated and installed in such a way that operations are disrupted as little as possible. This work is often carried out during ongoing operations. Careful planning is therefore important to ensure that the new system functions efficiently, is seamlessly integrated and meets the requirements - with the aim of minimising operational interruptions and environmental impact.
