The simple, modern yet timeless design fits in well with the house.
The old split heat pump in this house was worn out. The CTA ‘Aeroheat Livera CL’ outdoor air/water heat pump installed in its place now provides cosy warmth and hot water. Latest-generation heat pumps are even more energy-efficient and economical than heat pumps of previous generations.
The new heat pump supplies both a radiator and an underfloor heating system, and also uses electricity from the building’s own all-roof photovoltaic system. Hot water generation is fully integrated in the system. A 400-litre boiler and a 500-litre storage tank ensure that the 9.5 kW required for heating are provided at all times.
The hydraulic module, a boiler and a buffer storage tank are installed inside the house. Other visible components include a PV system power storage unit and a water softening system.
The building owner decided to keep using an outdoor air/water heat pump. The change was therefore easy to do, since the new heat pump was installed at the same place as the old one and existing access ports could continue to be used. A newly installed hydraulic module inside the house optimises the distribution of the heat generated by the pump to the individual heating circuits as required. A hydraulic module simplifies the installation of the entire heat pump system as it incorporates important components such as an energy-efficient circulation pump, a regulator and a heat meter.
‘Aeroheat Livera CL’ was designed with new builds and, particularly, with renovations in mind. Thanks to flow temperatures of up to 78 °C, it is also an ideal solution for detached houses and apartment blocks equipped with radiator heating systems where a reliable supply of hot water is needed. The inverter-controlled heat pump runs on the environmentally friendly, natural refrigerant propane. Its workmanship ensures low-noise and low-vibration operation, and the built-in Silent Mode feature absorbs almost all of the sound it makes.
The heat pump in use
Natural refrigerant (propane)
Suitable for renovated buildings thanks to flow temperatures of up to 78 °C
Easy installation
Low-noise operation
System expandable to up to 4 units (cascade)
Active cooling if equipped with CL Livera 1 wall-mounted controller (to be discussed with CTA first)
Two types of air source heat pumps
Air/water heat pumps install outdoors or indoors. Outdoor units have a pipe that leads inside. Indoor units require two air ducts: one to draw in the air, and the other to release it back into the environment.
In safe hands
Choosing a CTA heat pump means opting for a high-quality, durable product. Even though heat pumps are generally considered low-maintenance, regular servicing and checks are required to maintain their perfect and low-cost performance in the long run. For newly installed heat pumps, our experts recommend taking out a ‘CTAplus’ extended warranty. This comprehensive protection offers cover for up to 12 years after commissioning. Alternatively, or even after your ‘CTAplus’ expires, we offer a flat-rate service contract for all heat pumps. We are a family-run Swiss company with production facilities in Switzerland.
Visually appealing and quiet
«The heat pump really matches the style of our house. Even our neighbours noticed the pleasant design of this very quiet heat pump.»

App control for your heat pump
Homeowners can use the CTA heat pump app on their smartphone or tablet to monitor and operate the heating system conveniently while they are out. The app allows you to switch off the heating or lower the temperature when you are not at home. It also lets you turn up the temperature ready for when you get back from your holiday.
